    Dear Parents & Students:

Welcome to Lake Park High School’s Summer School Driver Education. We hope you will have a very rewarding and enjoyable experience with us. Our program runs from Monday, June 13 through Friday, July 1; Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon (Only two make-up days, July 11 and 12, will be offered for any absence).

We encourage a parent/guardian and a student to virtually attend the Driver Education Information Meeting. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.  A link will be emailed home prior to the virtual meeting. During the virtual orientation, our staff will address the following items at this meeting:

    • Parental responsibilities as it pertains to the new changes of the “Graduated Licensing Law.”
    • The four-phase driving segment of our program includes parent cooperation and assistance and teacher instruction and evaluation.
    • The “Lake Park Parent Guide” to complement in-class instruction
    • Communication between teacher and parents

Students, after you have registered, you must see either Mr. Chellson or me to obtain a Rules of the Road booklet and directions on how to fill out the permit application at home before the program starts. The purpose is for the students to take the written exam, eye exam, and turn in their signed permit application with a check or money order payable to the Secretary of State in the amount of twenty ($20.00) dollars. The driver education department handles the processing to obtain your child’s permit so you do not have to.
