The National Honor Society is an honorary society whose members are chosen by the faculty based upon the students’ character, service, scholarship, and leadership.
New members are inducted in the spring. The society provides tutoring for fellow students, service projects, and leadership opportunities throughout the year for its members.
Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. The society recognizes students who excel in scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Each category is judged independently. In addition to an academic requirement of a 4.75 cumulative grade point average, participation and leadership in school activities are essential. No student is inducted simply because of a high academic average. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student-one who excels in all four of the above areas.
The Lake Park High School Chapter of the National Honor Society proudly presented the student inductees during a ceremony on
Thursday, April 18.
