Return to School (Fall) - Fully Remote Learning Model

On September 1, Lancer families and students were asked to provide feedback about Lake Park High School's 2020-21 school year that opened in a Fully Remote Learning Model. The District was seeking to understand what was working, what was not, and how to improve the experience for all Lancers.

There were 700 responses from the Family survey which focused on feedback about the implementation of the fully remote learning model. Parents were asked to identify which parts of the fully remote learning model they liked best. There were a number of components of the model that garnered 70% or more positive ratings. On the other hand, parents were asked to identify which parts of the model they liked least. In this case, there was less agreement. Just one option garnered 61% agreement, namely, students are required to spend too much time on their computers.

There were 422 responses from the Student survey which focused on feedback about the implementation of the fully remote learning model. Students were asked to identify which parts of the fully remote learning model they liked best. None of the options generated a great deal of consensus. Just two elements generated approval greater than 70%. Similarly, there was a lack of consensus about what they liked least about the remote learning model. Just two elements generated approval near 70%. Similar to parents, screen time emerged as a concern among the students
