Dear Lancer Families,
Lake Park High School is writing to proactively share helpful information and resources given recent media reports regarding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the potential impact to schools.
- Lake Park is working closely with local, state, and federal partners including the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD), Regional Office of Education (ROE), Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to take preventative steps and share timely communication as it becomes available.
- Lake Park’s custodial staff continues to be diligent with cleaning practices; this includes daily cleaning and disinfecting with special attention given to “hot spots” (door knobs, buttons, handles, tables in the cafe, etc.)
- The district is monitoring travel advisories issued through the U.S. Department of State as it relates to upcoming international travel for Lancer student activities and curricular purposes.
- The district home page provides tips for “Staying Healthy This Cold and Flu Season” as recommended by IDPH. Preventative actions should be practiced to avoid any illness.
- The School Nurse section of the district website provides general information available from the DuPage County Health Department.
For more information, view the complete recommendations to schools from IDPH.
We will continue to monitor this developing situation and will share additional information as it becomes available.
Thank you for your help to keep our school community healthy and safe!
Lynn Panega, Ed.D.
