The Counseling Department has been in contact with local scholarship committees to determine potential new deadlines as it relates to scholarships due before April 6. Please turn in all online materials for scholarships. Students can use unofficial transcripts from their HAC account. Check out the Scholarship Bulletin for information on the scholarships available.
This is also a great time to complete your Free Application For Student Assistance (FAFSA) application, if you haven’t already done so. Many states and colleges use the FAFSA to determine student eligibility for financial assistance in post-secondary experiences like colleges, universities, and technical training schools. More information is available on Lake Park’s College Resources page.
We also encourage students to continue to practice for the SAT by accessing their Khan Academy account. Just 20 hours total can increase a student’s SAT score by 115 points on average.
The National Association for College Admission Counseling’s College Admission Status Update is another resource that students and families can reference during this time.
Graduating students: Lake Park recommends directly contacting any colleges/universities, ACT/SAT, and/or any other applicable agencies and organizations to address specific questions regarding how the nation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic may impact the student's processes or status.
