The entire Lancer community stands with our graduating seniors and acknowledges these final weeks will be the toughest they face apart from each other. Nothing can replace the milestone memories they should be experiencing in person, but our actions can at least help support them through these emotional moments. Thanks to local businesses who are displaying "
I Support the Lake Park Class of 2020" banners in yards and storefronts. They have truly helped to "Turn the Town Blue!"
In recognition of prom on
Saturday, May 16, please remember to light up luminaries along your driveways! This class shines with determination and perseverance. Let our light remind them their futures are bright! On
May 16, at 7:00 p.m. seniors and their families can watch
Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020, a national hour-long simulcast featuring a commencement address from former President Barack Obama, celebrity performances and inspirational vignettes.
Unfortunately, while Lake Park staff members and parents were busy developing parade plans for the final week of school, the DuPage County Regional Office of Education and the DuPage County Health Department issued
joint communication that forced yet another decision to cancel. While this is one more disappointing moment to accept, Lake Park must comply with the authority of the educational leaders and health officials.
While the sense of loss can be overwhelming for families, we hope you tune in
