  • Dear Class of 2020 Lancer Families:

In three short weeks, the Lake Park High School Class of 2020 virtual graduation ceremony will premiere! West Campus was buzzing this past weekend with the return of our seniors picking up caps and gowns and other items to celebrate graduation. Now is the time for your Lancer to wear their cap and gown, pose with their yard sign, submit a photo and personalize a video for their classmates. The deadline to participate is Friday, May 8.

Please motivate your student to check their email from LPGraduation@lphs.org with the details for uploading by this weekend. At this time, your student’s completion of the online form is the only way to be included in the virtual ceremony, and we don’t want your graduate to miss out! Closer to the event date, families will receive a URL address to watch the premiere and share with relatives near and far.

Additionally, the virtual Scholarship and Awards program on Tuesday, May 19 will recognize individual and group achievements. Students must submit information this week via this Google form for recognition during the digital slideshow, which will feature a senior class speaker, highlight graduates, and create another keepsake for our Lancer families.

Graduate names will also be scrolling districtwide on the Lake Park marquees the week of graduation. If you prefer to opt out, please notify LPGraduation@lphs.org in writing.

Watch for upcoming communication that will share more details about Chromebooks, picking up diplomas, graduation programs and more! In the meantime, be sure to access the FAQ document for the Class of 2020.

Lancer Pride has been spreading in our communities as yard signs, ribbons, posters and banners have begun to appear. Some parents have even been decorating their front doors to celebrate their graduating seniors. These creative ideas around town are a visible sign of how much the Lancer community stands with our graduating seniors. This week’s #WeAreLakePark Message was even directed specifically to our Class of 2020.

Although nothing can replace the experience of in-person celebrations, the virtual celebrations can only be a success with your student’s participation. Please encourage them to respond immediately to meet these tight deadlines!

Thank you for partnering with Lake Park to make this a memorable time for the Class of 2020, especially in the face of such adversity.

    With Lancer Pride,

    Dominic Manola, Ed.D.
    Principal
