Prospective College Athletes

Course Selection Alignment

As a prospective college athlete, it is crucial to plan for initial eligibility standards in choosing high school courses. While Lake Park's graduation requirements cover most of the required courses for eligibility, they do not cover all of them. Students will have to choose courses beyond those required in order to be eligible for NCAA Division 1 and 2 schools. Students should make an appointment to see their counselor to discuss a four year plan that aligns with their goals as a student-athlete.

The following websites provide information about the process and requirements for pursuing eligibility for participating in college athletics. There are three college athletic governing bodies that colleges can be members of: NCAA, NAIA and NJACC.
