the most important factors in his or her career could be acceptance into the university of his or
her choice. Colleges primarily use the scores from the American College Testing Program (ACT) to
select applicants and award scholarships. Each of your students must take the ACT in April as part
of an Illinois graduation requirement. This test, the ACT, is the first of two tests that make up

The Lake Park ACT preparatory course for high school students is designed to develop the skills to improve ACT scores. In addition to English, science, reading and mathematics preparation, the course emphasizes test- taking strategies and techniques as well as using retired tests to continually measure progress and mastery of skills. Students will gain exposure to ACT testing situations, practice and remediation, and explanations on ACT style correct questions and types of answers meant to fool or detract from the correct response
