College expenses continue to rise at a faster pace than the general cost of living. Illinois tuition and fees have climbed an average of 8% per year over the past twenty years. In today’s ever-changing world, our youth need the ability to learn and adapt at a quick pace. The Lake Park Educational Foundation encourages you to assist a graduating senior in pursuing a higher education and striving to excel. Through the scholarship program, you can foster students’ education beyond high school so that they can transform their passions into successful careers.
If an individual or teacher had an impact on your own education and career, you can establish a scholarship in memory of a loved one or in honor of that individual. The Foundation’s Executive Director will meet with you to determine the selection criteria you would like in establishing the scholarship. The Foundation’s scholarship program encourages all of our students to strive for their own personal excellence.
The Lake Park Educational Foundation annually awards seniors over $11,000 through the following scholarships:
• Scott Bradley Memorial Scholarship
• Cychosz Scholarship
• Amanda Dombrowski Memorial Scholarship
• G.H. Elliott Memorial Scholarship
• Friends of Spring Brook Nature Center Scholarship
• Chris Frizzelle Memorial Scholarship
• Donald C. Lovelace Memorial Scholarship
• Claudia Sloan Memorial Scholarship
• Gary Steger Memorial Scholarship
• Dr. Eugene Swierczewski Scholarship
• Trinity Lutheran Parents’ Club Scholarship
Application forms for Lake Park seniors are available from the West Campus Career Center from
late-January through early-April.
“Thank you for offering me this scholarship! I am greatly honored to receive this
recognition, albeit other students equally deserve this award. I plan to make good use of
this scholarship money knowing that you have contributed to my college education. I’m
relieved to say that now my mother has a little less to worry about financially. Once again,
than you for your generosity!”
