The Lake Park chapter of the International Thespian Society is an honorary society for students in the theatre arts. Students are accepted into the society based on their involvement on and/or backstage in Lake Park theatre productions. The Thespians meet throughout the year to support the Lake Park theatre program, attend professional theatrical productions, produce the Lake Park one-act play festival, and administer the Hazel Turner Theatre Scholarship.
The
National Honor Society is an honorary society
whose members are chosen by the faculty based upon the students’ character, service, scholarship,
and leadership. New members are inducted in the spring. The society provides tutoring for
fellow students, service projects, and leadership opportunities throughout the year for its
members.
NHS
The Quill and Scroll is an honorary society that seeks to encourage individual initiative in high school journalism, creative writing, and allied fields. It seeks to enable students to contribute greater skill to their publication be it the school newspaper, yearbook or fine arts magazine. The society also seeks to recognize and reward the individual achievements of students engaged in journalistic activity. Eligible students must be in the upper third of their class, be a second semester sophomore, a junior, or a senior, and receive the endorsement of their publication’s advisor.
