News Columnists Assignment

You will probably have the most success if you search for a columnist on a newspaper's website.  You can go to Google, type in the city name and newspaper (i.e. Chicago newspaper) and you will get results.  You can use one of the links below to some of the larger newspapers.  Once you are on a newspaper's site, look for the Opinions section, the Editoral Section, Op/Ed section, Columnists, etc.  Different papers may use different terms for the same thing!

Chicago Tribune

Washington Post

New York Times

Boston Globe

Miami Herald

The Nation

San Francisco Chronicle

Washington Times

Atlanta Jornal-Constitution

Once you find a columnist, you can use EBSCO Host Newspaper Source Plus to access articles that were published past this week.  You will need a username and password to access this from home.
Be sure to click full text, and you will need to limit your dates.  In the search box, type AU then the name to search for the author.  For example for Maureen Dowd, you would type "AU Maureen Dowd" in the search box.  If you are not successful, try just the last name.
