The following databases will be of great assistance to you as you research your topic. If you are working off campus you will need a password, which you can obtain through Edline or from the blue sheet available in the Resource Center. | CQ Researcher | The CQ (Congressional Quarterly) Researcher explores single issues in the news in depth each week. Topics range from political, social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. Includes a Pro/Con section as well as a timeline and future steps. |
| SIRS Researcher | Provides a list of leading issues, or type in a search for yourself. Includes a pro/con section, overview, further search terms, and an analysis section. Articles are available from governement documents, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, and selected websites. |
| Infotrack- Opposing Viewpoints | Similar format to SIRS with a list of issues to choose from. Includes viewpoint essays, primary sources, statistics, and websites. |

| First Gov | Search in firstgov.gov to access the government's search portal. You'll be able to search your topic and get information from various government agencies, including the White House, the FBI, and the EPA. |
| Thomas | Legislative information from the Library of Congress. Allows you to search and view pending legislation in Congress, as well as bills that have already been passed. |
