Classroom Clipart - A site with over 30,000 copyright free clip art images including clip art, illustrations, and photographs.
Clip Art Connection - A site with over 5 million choices with thousands of animations with an emphasis on characterizations.
Clip-art  - A site with links to many great clip art sites and forums that talk about everything form Adobe Photoshop to web page design.
Digital Librarian (Images) - A site that links to literally thousands of images in museums, collections, and great web sites. Audio, video and mutlimedia links assembled by librarians.

Ditto - A searchable site that also places images in clusters to allow searches by topic.
Google - A site that takes you right to the image search page with links to thousands of pictures. This is the most used image search site on the web.
Pics for Learning - A site where images are searchable and in categories. This is a copyright friendly image site for educators. Use of these images for educational use is encouraged.

Dogpile - A Meta Search Engine that allows you to search multiple search engines at once. It allows for Boolean/proximity operators.
IMSA - A regional Illinois site that includes tools for searching, spelling, evaluation and citation.
Kartoo - A Meta Search Engine that uses graphically organized links.
Killer Info - A Meta Search Engine that presents clustered web search results. It includes a list of related keywords that are useful for narrowing or expanding a search.
Metacrawler - A Meta Search Engine that returns the best results from a combined pool of the leading search engines.
Momma - For those times when Mom isn't around to help you be a mother, Momma.com will do her best to take over where your mom left off.
Vivismo - A Meta Search Engine that yields clustered results displayed in an index on the left side of the screen.

Ask Jeeves - A "natural language" search engine that allows questions. It provides an easier, more intuitive way to search.
Google - A search engine that provides comprehensive coverage with great relevancy.
Google Scholar - A search engine that enables searches for scholarly articles that are available on the web.
MSN - A search engine that allows you to search by domain, country, language and customized search terms.
Teoma - A search engine that uses subject specific popularity which ranks a site based on the number of same subject pages that reference it.
Yahoo - One of the most comprehensive search engines. It provides good people and directory searches.

Subject Directories

FirstGov - This is the official web portal for the United States Government.
Internet Public Library - This is a searchable, annotated subject directory of close to 3,000 Internet resources chosen for their usefulness to the public library user's information needs.
Internet Scout Project - The project's acclaimed reports and resource archive provide educators and students with fast, convenient ways of staying informed about the most valuable online resources. The sites are selected and examined for validity by students and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
